G6 outlines are finally available!

Aug. 13, 2026

Today was a long-time coming. Glad I could finally get out the G6 notes before G7 came out (probably coming out next year then will need to do this all over again)🙄. The outlines are AI-generated and so have that very flat affect that is typical for AI summarization.

Additionally, organization was a little weird. Some textbooks (notably math or engineering ones) have sections that are very well organized like

1. Big-Topic

1.1 Big-Topic-Subtopic1

1.2 Big-Topic-Subtopic2

1.2.1 Big-Topic-Subtopic2-Subsubtopic1

1.2.2 etc...

Gelatt has no such obvious structure and instead codes topics and subtopics by font color and size and bold/italics which makes it hard to know and interpret where things are in the outline structure. Some authors were very organized and some were...not. As an example in Lens Surgery, there's a TON of info in "Patient Selection" that probably could be organized in different levels but it'll take going back to the original text to figure out how that should happen. Regardless, the order of the information should closely match what's in the textbook.

Eventually would like to have quizzes/test questions from this content and maybe even try to correlate sections with published journal articles per "category" (so get all corneal questions or all cornea surgery questions) or by species so you can quiz yourself based on the blueprint published by ACVO/ECVO/*CVO.
